Project status as of May 13th, 2025
When CMHA Lambton Kent absorbed a local mental wellness program in an area with no existing peer-led services, the team saw a unique opportunity: introduce the Recovery College model to enhance community support, align with national strategy and bring lived experience to the heart of programming. To boost enrollment while maintaining and improving the positive experience of students and existing wellness centre members, the team rolled out an engagement strategy. This included staff presentations, outreach to prospective students and refreshed promotional content. As they tested and refined their approach, the team responded to qualitative feedback by enhancing their co-design and engagement processes. While it is early days, signs suggest enrollment in the college is growing steadily. Both students and staff are reporting stronger engagement and positive outcomes.
“The Recovery College is a space where lived experience is valued and embraced by the community.”
