Recently we caught up with E-QIP Cohort 6 alumni YouthHab to discuss their experience of using virtual care to improve outcomes for their clients. here’s what they shared with us:

Earlier this year we conducted a virtual care survey for YouthHab clients receiving virtual care in our Mental Health and Transitional Aged Youth (TAY) programs. After analyzing results of the survey, we learned that of all the clients that indicated they were uncomfortable receiving virtual care, 47% lacked privacy at home and 18% felt uncomfortable using technology during virtual appointments.

Since then, YouthHab has partnered with John Howard Society Belleville (JHSB) to offer clients free virtual access to mitigate the barriers identified by our survey. JHSB now offers a private space, a device and a reliable internet connection to improve the experience of YouthHab clients attending virtual counselling appointments.
